Competition day

Being able to perform well at all competitions is definitely the most important attribute a team needs to have in order to be successful in the season. It doesn’t matter how great someone’s robot is or how many points they can score in a minute, because if the team cannot function well as a whole and does not make necessary preparations, even the best of robots will crash and burn when it’s time for their ultimate test.

As a matter of fact, we actually made an entire video that explains our own small personal collection of key tips and tricks on how to survive and get the most out of your infinitely exciting and stressful VEX Robotics tournament experience, which we entered into the 2015-2016 Online Challenge. Definitely check it out for us by clicking right here, and tell us what you think!

In a nutshell, we always make sure to 1) charge all of our batteries and bring an extension cord, 2) maintain effective communication within members, 3) attend judging and the skills challenges, 4) practice before matches start, 5) keep an eye out for SP, and 6) always pre-choose good alliance partners before alliance selection begins. We believe that keeping all of our members organized and collected is just as important as having a working robot!
